The Ultimatum

I've tried to avoid making a blog for a long time to avoid being too cliche. Despite my fervent disapprobation of blogs, today I find myself at a crux. Only two days into the semester at Utah State University and I've been given an ultimatum: become technologically savvy or find a different major. You see, I'm a Junior in the Public Relations Department and according to various advisers, teachers, and textbooks have told me that signing that registration form meant I am now a public commodity. Since 9:00 am yesterday four certified PH D'S have told me that henceforth my life is to be lived like an ad campaign to get me hired and the first step to that is going public.

As I establish this blog it strikes that I might be preparing the forum for my public humiliation. In the same moment I recognized the irony that a profession that is designed to shield people from public embarrassment would require the person to be entirely opened to it.

For the next few months I will be posting assignments from my various PR classes on this blog as a sort of "virtual inbox"... Enjoy!
